Joe Hamilton, Renshi - Owner & Head Instructor

Martial Arts History

1990 - Began my martial arts journey.
April 1996 - Received my Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) from Sensei Dave Powis.
April 1997 - Took over San Do Jutsu Karate School when Sensei Dave Powis retired.
1999 - Crispin Mini Ratings circuit: 1st in Kata, 1st Sparring and 2nd in Weapons.
2000 - Crispin Mini Ratings circuit: Top Black Belt Points Champion, 1st in Sparring and 1st in Weapons.
February 2001 - I completed my National Coaching Certification.
June 2001 - Received my Nidan (2nd degree Black Belt) from Shihan Robert Krantz of the Combined Jiu-Jitsu Association and World Kobudo Federation.
November 2001 - Awarded “Jiu-Jutsu School of the Year” by Global Martial Artists Federation.
June 2002 - Inducted into the World Karate Union Hall Of Fame, as “Jiu-Jutsu Instructor of the Year”.
May 2003 - Inducted in the World Wide Martial Arts Hall of Fame in as “Master of the Year”.
January 2004 - Received my Sandan (3rd degree Black Belt) from Soke/Grand Master Glenn Kwan of Global Martial Artists Federation and The Canadian Martial Arts Association.
January 2004 - Received my “Instructor’s License” to instruct the art of San Do Jutsu from Soke/Grand Master Glenn Kwan of Global Martial Artists Federation and The Canadian Martial Arts Association.
June 2005 - 1 of 50 Instructors from around the world to instruct at the Mixed Martial Arts Expo.
June 2005 - Inducted in the World Wide Martial Arts Hall of Fame in for “Outstanding Contribution to the Martial Arts”.
July 2005 - Received my Yondan (4th degree Black Belt) from Soke/Grand Master Glenn Kwan of Global Martial Artists Federation and The Canadian Martial Arts Association.
September 2005 - Recognized as Renshi (Master of Technique).
October 2005 - Nominated in the Business Excellence Division of the Nottawasaga Futures Award. For customer service and community involvement.
December 2005 - Oustanding Acheivement Award, Hon.M. Aileen Carroll, PC., MP, Government of Canada.
December 2005 - Recognition Award, Hon. Joe Tascona MPP, Government of Ontario.
December 2005 - Letter of Acievment, Rob Hamilton, Mayor of Barrie, Ontario.
June 2006 - 1 of 60 Instructors from around the world to instruct at the Mixed Martial Arts Expo.
March 2007 - New Location Grand Opening, Recognition Certificate from Town of New Tecumseth.
March 2007 - Awarded Godan (5th degree Black Belt) from Grand Master and Soke Glenn Kwan.
June 2008 - One of 30 Instructors from around the world to instruct at the Mixed Martial Arts Expo
February 2009 - Awarded Blue belt in Brailian Jiu Jitsu by Professor Dan Moroney. -------------------------------November 2009 - San Do Jutsu Karate School was honoured by Big Brothers & Big Sisters of South Simcoe for "Outstanding Community Involvement" for 2009.

 

Brenda Hamilton, Shodan - Martial Arts History

2002 - Began my martial arts journey.
2005 - Assisted Sensei Joe at the Mixed Martial Arts Expo---------------------------2006 - Assisted Sensei Joe at the Mixed Martial Arts Expo.
June 2008 - Received my Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) from Sensei Joe Hamilton.
Currently I am an Assistant Instructor.

September 2009 - Received my Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) from Sensei Joe Hamilton.
Currently I am an Assistant Instructor.

2003 - Began my martial arts journey.

Dan Busch, Sempai - Martial Arts History

1996 Received my shodan from Sensei Tsutomu Ohshima of Shotokan Karate of America (SKA), at a special training event in Amherst Massachusetts at Hampshire College.
Currently I am an Assistant Instructor.
 
Dan Moroney, Professor

2008 - Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is under the technical guidance of Professor Daniel Moroney. Professor Moroney is the head instructor of the Bravado Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Toronto and is a 1st degree Black Belt under Royler Gracie and David Adiv .
 
Jason Ellison, Shodan
